Insurgent

Hey everyone!

I woke up before my alarm this morning, ready to start the day! Unlike most people, I actually enjoy Mondays! I headed to work and had a great morning with the little ones I teach. I will be going back there in a few hours for my afternoon shift, which also is full of kids that I love working with so maybe that's why Monday is one of my favorite days of the week!

When I got home, I had some more of my buffalo chicken dip for lunch, along with the leftover watermelon that had been cut up. Two of my favorite foods! yum =)

After eating lunch I decided to finish up the book I've been currently reading...

Insurgent (Divergent, #2)

source

I absolutely LOVED this book and am already aching for the next one to be released! I am a big fan of the dystopian novel and loved the first book by Veronica Roth, Divergent, so I knew this would be a book I read in a few days tops. I was right! I had trouble going to sleep on nights I was reading it because I just wanted to stay up all night and finish it which brings me back to my Harry Potter days...

SPOILER ALERT
The story is a continuation of Divergent. Tris finds herself in the middle of a war between the factions. As she travels from one faction to another seeking safety and trying to come up with a plan to save everyone, I was able to learn a lot more about the different factions mentioned in the first novel. Tris stayed in all five factions throughout this story so I was really able to see what was happening in every area. The book took a few surprising turns and the ending was something I had speculated about during the last book...Tris and the rest of the remaining people find out that they are locked into their gated area of life and there is actually life going on outside. They were placed in there as an experiment. When in the first book Tris noticed that the gates were locked as if they were being kept in rather than trying to keep something out, I thought that something similar to this might be the case. The last thing the book says is the woman who started the experiment had the last name of Prior, same as Tris. I am dying to find out what's next!

Unfortunately, there is no release date for the next book. I know the second one just came out...but I am so impatient. Oh well, onto Amazon.com to browse some more books to be sent to my Kindle...and then heading out for a two mile walk with my mom!

Question of the day:

If you had to choose one of the five factions which one would it be?
Abnegation: the selfless
Candor: the honest
Dauntless: the fearless
Erudite: the knowledgable
Amity: the peaceful

I thought about this question at great lengths. I am definitely too selfish for abnegation and am also not brave enough for dauntless. I am peaceful but cannot see myself standing in between two armed soldiers to keep the peace. As much as I have a thirst for knowledge, I doubt I would make the cut in erudite. So I guess that leaves me in candor! I do like to speak my mind and wish it was more acceptable =)
