Girls Night Out

Last Friday after work I made the almost two-hour drive up to Vernon, CT to visit my college friend Laura.

Laura and I were roommates in college and we also danced on our college dance company together so we were basically together all the time along with our other roommate Megan (who couldn't be there this weekend). It was so nice to see her and spend some time talking and catching up.

On Friday night we went to dinner at Wood-n-Tap. We started off with some drinks and I had a Malibu Red Margarita which was pretty tasty! We split an appetizer of spinach and artichoke dip and then both had Chicken and Broccoli penne which was delicious and filling!

Afterwards we headed out to Rooftop 120 which is a rooftop bar in Vernon. It was a beautiful location and an amazing atmosphere. I loved people watching because there were so many different types of groups around; young people, old people, people in huge groups, a wedding party, etc, etc...

Unfortunately, Laura and I were feeling pretty old and were home by midnight. It's tough getting old =)

The next morning we headed to breakfast at Rein's New York Style Deli. This place was somewhere Laura grew up going to as a child so it was really cool to see part of her childhood. The food was delicious too!

While I was visiting, Laura took me on a tour of her childhood home, family members houses, and high school, as well as showing me all sorts of places around her hometown of Manchester.

I managed to take a few pictures before I left since I had forgotten to take pictures the night we went out...

Laura in her apartment. She is moving in a few weeks so she has already started packing, hence the bags and laundry bins!

Laura and I, so good to catch up!

Laura's apartment building. Only for a little while longer though!
