Great Run!

Yesterday, I had the best and most exciting run of my training plan so far!

Here's what it looked like:

5 minute warm up walk
10 minute run
5 minute walk
10 minute run
5 minute cool down walk

I cannot believe that somehow I managed to run for 10 minutes straight once- let alone twice! I feel like my body has literally come so far in the past 5 weeks it is incredible to me!

My run was completed on the treadmill due to the horrifying rain/snow mix taking place outside- so I have stats for you:

Closer to 3.1 miles each time- and so many calories burned! =)

Does this week feel like it's dragging to anyone else? I can't believe it's only Thursday! I can't wait for the weekend to get here- the next few weekends are going to be extremely busy and I'm excited about all my upcoming plans! Between birthday celebrations, seeing So You Think You Can Dance, Thanksgiving, and the race after Thanksgiving life will be pretty busy the next few weeks!

I need to start planning out my last few training sessions (only 8 more left!) I want to make sure my last few are run outdoors so I know the cold weather won't be a problem on race day. It's crazy how I have gone from running for a minute/walking for a minute to running 10 minutes at all time and soon I will be running for 35 minutes straight! Crazy!

Are you currently training for a race? How's it going?
Are you a natural runner or do you have to work for every minute you continue running?

I am definitely NOT a natural runner by any means. I work for every second that I force myself to continue running. I wish I had that natural ability- my brother has it (he used to win x-country races in high school without ever following a training plan. Hopefully someday I'll be able to keep up with him!
