The Selection Review

The Selection (The Selection, #1)

During my vacation to Florida- I actually had the opportunity to read for fun! I love to get into a great book and this book was no exception! I started reading The Selection by Kiera Cass during the drive to Florida and finished it within a day.

The Selection is about a girl named America Singer who is part of a post-apoctolyptic society. In her society everyone is sorted by class systems. You are born into a certain class and the only way to move from one class to another is through marriage. America and her family are part of one of the lower classes and are a family of artists.

Throughout the novel, we follow the story of America's journey as one of the "selected". The selected are young girls from every part of the country who are chosen to compete for the prince's heart. America is honest with the prince from the start of the novel and the two develop a special relationship.

As someone who loves romance and post-apoctolyptic novels this really was the best book I could have chosen. I highly recommend this book- I think it was one of my favorite books of all time.

I was under the impression that this was a single novel- so I was expecting a nice tied up ending- but to find out that there is another novel after this one certainly made me both smile and get irritable during the last page. I can't wait for the sequel!

If you have read The Hunger Games, Matched, or The Maze Runner series and enjoyed them you will definitely enjoy this one!
