On the train to Avignon...

Happy Friday everybody!

I'm back today with day seven of my France trip, which started with an extremely early morning. Our tour group had to drive back to Paris on our bus in order to catch the high-speed train to Avignon.

Mom and I were both super excited to go on a train that moves 180mph!

The ride itself flew by, and it was a very smooth ride. Although I do have to admit that it was difficult to look out the window since everything was blurring by. It made me feel a little sick to stare at the scenery, so I ended up reading for most of the ride.

Soon we arrived in Avignon and saw some sites from our bus on the way into town.

I love that this bridge stops in the middle of the river, how weird is that?

Our hotel (another Mercure) was located right in the center of Avignon and there was so much going on in the city center.

There was a beautiful carousel right outside our hotel as well.

After quickly checking in the hotel and throwing our carry-ons down, we headed off on a walking tour of the city. Our tour guide showed us around the area and some of the important landmarks while we wore the nerdy "whisper" devices that our group needed to use. (I hid mine in my purse so I wouldn't look too nerdy)

I just loved taking pictures of the flowers around France, they were so beautiful!

Dinner was at the Mecure sister hotel and was absolutely delicious. A small salad with a quiche.

Chicken and potatoes.

and the most delicious part? Chocolate mousse cake. Yum yum yum.

It was another amazing day in France...and we still have three more days to discuss!
