September Birchbox Review

Although it's already October, I haven't had the chance to review my September Birchbox yet, so I thought I would jump on here today to do just that.

I have to say that this was one of my favorite boxes that I have received in quite some time.

The Serge Normant Meta Luxe Hairspray is definitely a typical hairspray all around. I do like it however, because the times I have used it, not a single hair falls out of place. I would say that this spray has a definite firm hold, so is probably not best for styles where you want your hair to move and breather, but for a dance teacher (and former dancer) I totally appreciate a hairspray that freezes your hair into place!

The Caudalie Hand and Nail Cream is recommended for use before/after a manicure as a moisturizing supplement. It is definitely a moisturizing cream that's for sure, however it is not thick like I thought it would be. This cream goes on very thin and sinks into the skin very nicely. I definitely have other lotions that I prefer to this one, but it is nice to have a lighter cream for when it's necessary.

The Mally mascara I received couldn't have come at a better time. I desperately needed a new mascara and I was thrilled to see one inside my Birchbox. This mascara is labeled as volumizing, which I don't normally go for because my lashes tend to get clumpy with this kind of mascara. I like this mascara, but I don't love it. It is hard to not get huge clumps on the wand, and I find myself having to go back and fix my lashes after applying it. I will continue to use it and maybe it will get better as it dries up a little bit, but for now it is too wet for my taste!

When I saw this cute little bottle of nail polish in my Birchbox, I was over the moon. Ruffian Nail Lacquer in Fox Hunt is not a color I would normally pick for myself. I am not into orangey nail polish, mostly because my skin is so light and often orange looks weird against my ghostly fingers. I used this polish on my toenails and kept it on for a full week and a half (an eternity in my ever-changing OCD nail polish world). I like it, it is definitely NOT my favorite color, I would recommend the formula because it applies very nicely and think that this color would look great on someone who has slightly darker skin then my own.

However, how cute is that little bottle? I am a sucker for packaging...it's a problem.

BCBGMAXAZRIA Bon Genre fragrance is a mouthful definitely. I thought this fragrance was great I could see the appeal in it and it definitely didn't make me want to toss it out the window like so many other fragrances do. I will finish up the sample, but won't be purchasing it in a larger size.
It has a very fresh scent and I really do think it is something that I would wear on a regular basis, even though I normally go for much sweeter scents. I am awful at describing how things smell, but I definitely would purchase this if I didn't already have about 15 full sized perfumes that I seem to be unable to make a dent in.....

Thats all for the September Birchbox! My October box should be arriving soon, and it is my 1 year anniversary with Birchbox this month! =)

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Did you do anything special or try any new products? =)
