Project 365: Week 43

Day 297. I spent a lot of time working on my to-do lists and planning out my schedule. I have an exciting new opportunity that I will be sharing in the coming weeks!

Day 298. After work I headed to Brittni and Stephen's house and watched Halloweentown! This is such a great, classic Halloween movie!

Day 299. I finally got my shelving set up in my room and I'm thrilled that my room is almost complete!

Day 300. For my Uncle Dave's birthday we took him out to Outback. It was such a nice time and I enjoyed getting the chance to chat with both my uncles and my papa (as well as my mom!)

Day 301. How does this little girl end up with so much room on the couch?!

Day 302. This candle is the epitome of fall. I purchased a ton of these candles last year and I love having a stockpile of this favorite.

Day 303. My dinner at trivia last night was sooooo delicious! I was starving and decided to get dessert as well. Toll house cookie pie was delicious! =)

How was your week?!

Recent Reads

I've been reading so much lately so I decided instead of having three separate posts I would combine the three books I read this month into one post. So here we go bookworms...

I have read all the Shopaholic books by Sophie Kinsella and find them heartwarming and hilarious. Becky is such a real character with flaws and a solid personality. I am a huge fan of these novels and this one was no exception. I did not find it to be the best of all the Shopaholic novels, but I enjoyed it nevertheless. It was a cute, quick read with a ton of personality!

Chelsea Handler's novel My Horizontal Life was one I was expecting to like more then I did. Her stories were funny but at some points were out of control. Some of the outrageous moments were ones that left me cringing. Chelsea has such a dry sense of humor and her book was no different. It was one that I could put down and pick back up later without feeling like I was missing it,

\

This series completely hooked me. The Jewel by Amy Ewing is a post-apocolyptic novel that is amazing. I cannot wait for the future novels in this trilogy to come out. I won't spoil the plot for you- but it is very similar to the Hunger Games and The Selection series. If you liked those books, you will probably be a fan of this as well.

What books have you been reading lately?

Fall Beauty Haul

Hello beauties and happy Tuesday!

I wanted to share a few beauty items I have picked up over the past few weeks. If you've been following the blog for awhile, you know I'm a huge beauty product junkie. =)

First of all I decided to place an online order with Sephora so I could receive my free birthday gift but unfortunately I must have done something wrong because I did not receive my free birthday gift! Oh well, I got a few things I'm really excited about!

The first product (the only product I paid for) is Nars Laguna Bronzer. I use a sample size of this regularly so I thought I would purchase a full size.

I used a promo code to get this Murad Acne Spot Fast Fix for free.  I love getting free samples!

I had three free samples I could add to my cart so I chose the Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation, Benefit They're Real Makeup Remover, and Anastasia Brow Powder.

I went into to Target to pick up a few things...and came out with a few beauty items!

I picked up the Yes To Coconuts Facial Wipes which I have been eyeing for awhile. I have tried a few things from the Yes To brand, and since I love everything coconut I thought I would like to try these facial wipes.

I have heard a ton of great things about Pacifica and when I saw this face wash in the natural skin care aisle I had to have it! It smells so good!

Style. Sexy. Hair is a heat protectant which I want to try out. I am almost out of my current heat protectant and couldn't find it in Target so I thought I would try something new in its place.

While in the mall the other day I decided to run into the Sephora inside JCPenny's.

I was able to get my free birthday gift from Make Up For Ever which included a miniature lipstick and eyeshadow. =)

I knew going into Sephora that I wanted to try LaVanilla's pure vanilla deodorant. I actually picked up one for my mom as well because we are trying to stay with all natural deodorant as I shared in this post.  I'm really excited about this purchase even though the deodorant is a little bit pricer then I would normally like.

My impulse buy for this trip is something I've been lusting over for a long time. Pink Sugar perfume. If you've never smelled this- get out there and smell it ASAP. It is amazing and I know I don't need any perfume but I just couldn't help myself!

Finally, I received a perfume sample from Philosophy. I'm always thankful for samples in the store because it's always nice to try some new things...even though it makes me want to buy more products....

Have you picked up any beauty products lately?

My First Massage (Ever!)

Last week I was experiencing some serious shoulder/neck tension and thought that I would schedule myself a massage. I've never had a massage before but so many people rave about getting massages that I thought it would be a fun, relaxing time.

I chose Massage Envy in East Greenwich because of its cheap introductory massage rate of $49.99. I was able to book an hour long massage with just an online questionnaire and a quick phone call.

When I arrived at Massage Envy I was given a clipboard with a few papers to fill out regarding my medical history and massage preferences. It was quick and easy to fill out and a member of the staff came to sit with me as soon as I had finished. She asked me questions about where I was feeling discomfort and about my job and daily lifestyle.

After a quick chat she brought me to the restroom and then to the Tranquility Room which was a dimly lit room with soft music and a few hydrating water choices. I sat for a minute or two and then my massage therapist came in to greet me. My massage therapist, Melissa (what a great name- JK!), led me to the room where my massage would be taking place. Since on my questionnaire I had indicated that this was my first massage ever she explained to me exactly how the massage would work. She laid out a game plan for this massage and then left the room so I could get situated on the massage table.

I thought I would be more relaxed during the massage then I actually was. I tried focusing on the soft music but I kept thinking of things I needed to add to my to-do list. I had a hard time physically relaxing my body as well to which Melissa kept telling me "If I need your help I'll ask you!"

Once the massage was over, Melissa met with me and discussed her recommendations. She recommended that I start taking a yoga class because I need to learn to relax =) She also recommended massages that strictly focus on my upper back and shoulder region because she found several trigger points during the massage.

I did not book any future massages, not because I didn't enjoy it but because I'm just not sure if massages are for me. I enjoyed certain parts of the massage- particularly the scalp massage part- but I don't necessarily think it's worth the money to continue going. I would much rather take the money I would spend on a massage and use it elsewhere.

Have you ever gotten a massage? Did you like it?

Project 265: Week 42

So, week 42 means that there are only ten more weeks in the year. TEN!

I can't believe the year has flown by so quickly..but I do have to say I'm a little relieved to be almost finished with Project 365. It is a great idea and I'm thrilled that I have almost completed it but I miss taking pictures just because I want to take pictures and not because I am taking my "picture of the day".

Since we're getting real honest here, some days are more forced then others because some days are just boring, and that's okay. I just can't wait for a boring day I don't have to worry about coming up with a picture to post! =)

Now...for week 42!

Day 290. This is the sweetest face in the world. Roxy is so peaceful when she sleeps!

Day 291. I have been obsessed with the Halloween Kit Kats. They are white chocolate-orange colored-amazing-ness and I can't control myself.

Day 292. My new closet!

Day 293 My papa and his girlfriend Vivian came to visit and took us out to lunch on Sunday. We went to a local restaurant The Rathskeller which was decorated so nicely for fall!

Day 294. I started working on some online classes for a new, exciting opportunity which I will be sharing with you soon!

Day 295 I shared some new bins I bought for my closet.

Day 296 Brittni took over our office at work!

So that is how my week went! How was yours?

October Birchbox

At the end of last week I received my October Birchbox in the mail!

I love a good face mask and I'm excited to try this dr brandt vacuum cleaner. I never thought of comparing a face mask to a vacuum cleaner and it is a funny comparison. I will definitely be using this mask soon.

This dry shampoo is by amika and couldn't have come at a better time because I am in need of a new dry shampoo. I hope this will be a good one!

I was excited to get the black version of this Lord and Berry sparkle eye liner. I will try this black liner (maybe during a fun night out?) and let you know how it is.

I am obsessed with Benefit products and thrilled to see the Pore-fessional product in my box. I'm not sure if it's a great product or not, but I love Benefit so I will give it a try.

This ellovi butter in vanilla seems like a cool idea and at first glance it's more of a buttery wax then a lotion which seems weird but I will try it out for sure.

What beauty products are you trying this month?

An Almost Finished Bedroom!

I spent almost the entirety of this weekend working on my bedroom.

I truly believe that if your bedroom is organized and tidy you will be able to relax when you enter it. My decorating style is a serene, beach feel which is what I went for in my old bedroom and I wanted to continue that style in this bedroom as well.

My room is not finished as of the moment. I still have to hang everything up on the walls and have a shelving unit to take out of storage and set up but I wanted to share with you everything I have done.

My nightstand is set up and proudly displaying some fabulous smelling candles and beautiful flowers from Brittni and Stephen's wedding!

I love relaxing in my bed and am still loving my comforter from Chaps (via Kohls)

My desk is almost set up but I have a few more things to finish up.

My jewelry armoire is organized and ready to go. I added a few fall decorations on top of it for the season.

I'm obsessed with my closet! The shelves hold all my shoes and also bins that hide accessories. I splurged on new bins from Michael Graves (via JCPenny's) so everything would match inside my closet.

I have two hanging racks. One higher up that holds dresses and a lower rack for shirts and jackets. Of course everything is in order based on sleeve length and then color coordinated.

Now for some unfinished areas...

Since my white shelving unit is still in storage the baskets that normally sit inside it are just hanging out on the floor for the time being.

I purchased a new teal full length mirror which will get hung on the back of my door soon.

But my shelving area is looking pretty good huh?!

My bookcase is full decorated, but just a little hidden behind all the baskets.

My dresser is located in the other side of my closet along with my scrapbooking cart.

I'm loving my stockpile closet but it needs a little more love.

I also can't wait to hook up all my electronics and hide all the cord clutter!

Finally, my bathroom needs to be updated- but I added some flowers to the sink area and it looks much nicer!

I will keep you updated as I continue working! =)
