July Birchbox Review

This post never made it up on Tuesday the 25th...whoops!

First of all, Happy Birthday to my wonderful mom! She is such an amazing person and I am so lucky to be her daughter!

I am coming to you a little late with my July Birchbox but I wanted to make sure I gave each product a fair chance and the only way to do that is with time.

I was mostly excited for the Key West Aloe and Supergoop products since I've used products from the same company in the past and knew they were great brands.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Jouer daily clarifying treatment oil. I didn't love the idea of rubbing oil all over my face but I found this to be more moisturizing then a lotion. The scent was light and didn't bother me either which was good.

Honestly not a fan of texture sprays, even though I like the brand of this one, Amika. I just don't need more texture in my hair, I've got plenty!

This aloe moisturizer was perfect after being in the sun all day. I simply slathered this on my skin and it moisturized it. No more peeling and sunburn pain for me! I would definitely try out Key West Aloe products if you haven't before, the few I've tried have been awesome!

I love Supergoop as a brand- they have some amazing sunscreens. This CC Cream was truly no exception. I thought it was lightweight and felt great on my skin. I wouldn't need to repurchase it, but I wouldn't say no to getting more either!

I want to like lip products...I really do... This Stila gloss looked absolutely ridiculous on me. I am not meant to wear lip products that aren't natural. I just end up looking silly!

What products have you tried out recently?

A Weekend in Boston

Tim and I took off last weekend for a mini getaway in Boston! Way back in the spring I won tickets to a Red Sox game for August 17th which at the time seemed so far away- I can't believe it has already come and gone!

Once we knew we were going to the game I decided I wanted to spend at least one night in Boston and make a mini vacation out of it so I started looking online for a hotel deal. I didn't end up finding anything great but through Priceline managed to get a decent price on a room at The Inn at Longwood Medical. A fifteen minute walk from Fenway it was the perfect location for us on this trip.

Once we dropped our bags off in the room we walked straight down towards Fenway to get some food and check out exactly how far it was from our hotel.

I've never seen Fenway and the surrounding streets so empty! We had a nice time seeing it without the massive crowds. We had a great dinner at Jerry Remy's which is an awesome sports bar right near Fenway Park.

I took this picture as we were leaving our room on Monday morning. I didn't choose what type of room we wanted because it was cheaper that way and we were a little disappointed to end up with two beds! One was for storage :)

The first thing we did on Monday morning was go on a Duck Boat Tour. My mom purchased this for us and it was so much fun. We learned a ton of information and had fun hanging out as we cruised around the harbor.

Once we finished the boat tour it dropped us off right at the New England Aquarium. We decided to grab slices of pizza in Faneuil Hall before heading into the aquarium.

We had an amazing time in the aquarium! We both enjoyed learning about all of the sea creatures and were especially fascinated by the ginormous sea turtles and the different types of penguins!

Then it was time to cheer on our Red Sox!

Even though they lost we still had a blast at the game and drove home talking about how much fun we had over the past weekend!

I thought I would show you how I did on my fitbit as well! Amazing how many steps I took in one day! So much walking in Boston!

Sorry for the picture overload, but I hope you enjoyed seeing our weekend trip to Boston!
